This Privacy Policy explains how Barani Elangovan ("I", "me", or "my") handles information in connection with this portfolio website and the iOS apps I develop — Amounta : Expense Tracker and FlipWell : Flip & Match (together the "Apps"). Your privacy matters to me. I never sell your personal data, and I do not run any servers of my own that receive or store it. Amounta is entirely privacy-first with no ads or trackers. FlipWell is a free game supported by advertising and offers optional Game Center features, both provided by third parties as described below.
This portfolio website does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts, and it does not collect personal information. If you email me using the contact links, I will receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include in your message, and I will use it only to reply to you.
Amounta is a personal finance app. The financial information you enter — such as transactions, income, budgets, loans, tags, notes, accounts, and any receipt images you add — is stored locally on your device. Where receipt scanning is used, the text is recognised on your device using Apple's on-device Vision framework; receipt images are not sent to me or to any third party.
To keep your data available across your own devices, Amounta syncs through Apple iCloud (CloudKit). This data is tied to your personal Apple ID and stored in your own private iCloud container, which only you can access. I have no access to your Amounta data, and I do not operate any servers of my own that receive or store it.
Amounta contains no analytics, no crash-tracking SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. The only external services involved are those provided by Apple (iCloud for sync and Apple's App Store / StoreKit for in-app purchases — see sections 4 and 5).
FlipWell is a free flip-and-match memory game. Your game progress — including your current level, per-level statistics, daily streak, and settings — is stored locally on your device. FlipWell does not use iCloud, does not require an account to play, and I do not receive or store your gameplay data.
Advertising. FlipWell displays ads (including banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads) through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, Google may collect device identifiers and usage data. FlipWell uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency: you are asked for permission before any cross-app tracking, and you may decline — you can also change this later in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data-collection guidance.
Game Center. FlipWell offers optional leaderboards and achievements through Apple Game Center. If you choose to sign in, Apple manages your Game Center identity, and scores such as your highest level and best streak are associated with your Game Center account. Game Center is optional and is governed by Apple's terms; the game is fully playable without it.
Amounta offers an optional paid upgrade — Amounta Pro, an auto-renewable subscription — through in-app purchase. Amounta Pro and any other purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit and the App Store. Payment is handled by Apple against your Apple ID — I never receive or store your payment card details. I may receive anonymised, aggregated sales and subscription reports from Apple that do not identify you personally.
Amounta relies on services provided by Apple — iCloud (for sync), StoreKit and the App Store (for in-app purchases), and the device's built-in frameworks. To convert foreign-currency transactions, Amounta may also fetch daily exchange rates from a public rates provider (open.er-api.com) over a secure connection; this request contains no personal or financial data — only a request for the current rate table, which is then cached on your device. FlipWell additionally uses Google AdMob for advertising and Apple Game Center for optional leaderboards and achievements (see section 3). Your use of these services is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
Because your data lives on your device and, for Amounta, in your personal iCloud account, you remain fully in control of it. You can delete your data at any time by removing individual items within the app, deleting the app, or managing (and clearing) its iCloud data in your device's Settings under your Apple ID → iCloud. Deleting the app removes its on-device data; iCloud data is removed when you delete it from iCloud storage.
Because all personal data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account, you can access, correct, export, or delete it yourself at any time — directly within the app or through your Apple ID settings — without needing to contact me. My website and Apps are not directed at children under the age of 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your data benefits from Apple's built-in protections, including device encryption and encrypted iCloud storage. Amounta also offers an optional Face ID / Touch ID app lock and password-encrypted backups for an extra layer of privacy. While I take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
